As we begin Microsoft’s fiscal year 2026 (FY26), the FastTrack Partner Center Experience (FPX) team has refined the account classification methodology to better align with Microsoft field standards. While the core principle remains unchanged—accounts are categorized as E3 Opportunities, E5 Opportunities, or E5 Expansion Opportunities based on their dominant license profile—some updates have been introduced:
-
Exclusion of Standalone License Tenants: Accounts with a majority of licenses classified as “standalones” (e.g., Exchange Online, SharePoint, or Microsoft 365 Apps-only subscriptions) are now excluded from the Opportunity tabs. These tenants typically have relatively limited security licenses.
These changes are expected to impact only a small subset of accounts. Users may observe the addition of new tenants, reclassification of existing ones, or the removal of tenants that no longer meet Microsoft 365 prioritization criteria.
